For all the hard science to Football which we intend to cover, it is crucial not to neglect the art. Coaches who fail to see it or cannot identify that there are many methods towards achieving the same goal, generally do not understand the game to a high enough standard.

Flair is not just for show, it is an effective form of deception which prevents defenders from being able to commit to their decisions.

At a certain level of Football, momentum changes games. A crunching tackle is worth twice as much as a toe poke.

Timing movements in sync with the flow of the game may be an intangible skill, but true Footballmen understand how these are worth as much as a great passing ability.

Losing the ball frequently is not a direct sign of inability, given that the bravest player who looks to receive often, no matter the circumstance, will always lead in turnovers. It alone is not a sign of a weakened effect on the game.

This game is complex. While there are certain principles, these are fewer and more obscure than people expect. As to the methods, there are many, and success with these links back to the artful player. The visually attractive, whether obvious to all, or just to the tactician, has a genuine role in the game and should not be ignored.
